Clothing
Q: How can I tell if something will fit?
A: You can find size information here.
Q: What’s the best way to wash your clothes?
A: Our clothes wash really well at 30 degrees - and it’s better to the environment too. But please always review the care label on your items to be sure of any particular instructions. Oh, and because lots of our clothes are made from 100% cotton, we'd advise that you steer clear of the tumble dryer.
Q: Do I need the backing of the applique on the inside of my garment?
A: The thin backing on the inside of the applique may come off after a few washes, but don’t worry! It’s totally normal and won’t affect the quality or comfort of your clothes.
Sustainability
Q: What does GOTS mean?
A: GOTS stands for Global Organic Textiles Standard and it’s the leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres. There are loads of things that GOTS does to prove that organic clothes have been made to an ethical and environmentally friendly standard. Here are a few key things:
- GOTS makes sure that anyone claiming their cotton is organic actually is! GOTS follows the cotton manufacturing process from A to Z. This means GOTS audits the people picking the cotton in the field, to the factory making the clothes and all the way to our head office team.
- It’s very important to us that happy workers make our happy clothes. GOTs checks factories to make sure workers are have a safe and clean environment, as well as paid a fair, living wage.
- Clothes certified by GOTS aren’t allowed to contain any allergenic or toxic chemicals – so it’s kinder to even the most delicate skin. GOTS bans chemicals that can cause illnesses, and pollutants that can harm eco systems. This makes farmers and factory workers happier, as well as our planet. A big deal for us.
- GOTS-certified factories need to show how much water and energy they use to manufacture their cotton. GOTS puts targets and practices into place to help lessen the load.
